Meet the Founder, Glenn McConnell
Strategic Growth Partner for Service-Based Business Owners
“I’ve been the exhausted owner answering phones on Sunday, running payroll at midnight, and washing dishes before a client meeting. Now, I help business owners build companies that can thrive without them.”
Glenn’s story didn’t start in a boardroom; it started with a lawnmower. At twelve, he learned his first business lesson: hire good people, trust them, and build systems that work.
That early spark grew into a lifelong mission to lead, scale, and strengthen service-based businesses across the South.
After earning dual degrees in Business and Philosophy/Theology from Belmont University, Glenn spent fifteen years in hospitality and event operations before co-founding a specialty rental company from his guest room in 2001.
Over twelve years, that scrappy startup became a multi-city, $25M enterprise and eventually merged into what is now a $500M industry leader. The path wasn’t smooth. There were tough partnerships, near-burnouts, and hard lessons in leadership. But through it all, Glenn learned how to build a business that could run without him and how to help others do the same.
After selling his company, Glenn partnered with a moving and logistics firm, helping it grow from $780K to over $5M in five years, even through COVID. Along the way, he led peer advisory forums and mentored entrepreneurs through the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), discovering how much purpose he found in helping others gain clarity, confidence, and control.
Through Tandem Pathway, Glenn helps service-based business owners move from chaos to clarity. His coaching and consulting framework centers on three pillars:
- Strategic Planning with Accountability — setting clear goals and rhythms that keep progress on track.
- Leadership and Team Development — turning founders into leaders and employees into owners.
- Peer Advisory and Mentorship — building a community of honest accountability.
For Glenn, success isn’t about size or exit; it’s about freedom, stability, and the people who make it happen.
